Professor Wyss's interests focus on the human musculoskeletal system with particular interest in the design of artificial joints, the analysis of gait and other movements, and the design of aids for individuals with a disability. Present research projects are:

• kinematics and kinetics during activities of daily living (ADL) in different cultures (hip, knee and ankle)
• design of mechanical devices for individuals with a disability
• design of an artificial knee joint
